Ted Lai | Co-Founder, AngelVest Executive Vice President, Asia BBC Worldwide
Previously, Ted spent more than a decade working for Time Warner with his last role being Senior Vice President of Warner Bros. International TV, where he managed the WarnerTV Channel and video on demand services across Asia, and TV distribution and production in Greater China and Korea. Previously, he was a business development and product management executive in the US digital media industry, having worked at several high-profile companies, including idealab’s FreePC from inception to merger and IPO on NASDAQ. He also developed global strategic plans for theme parks and location-based entertainment centers for the Walt Disney Company.
Ted has been an active investor and adviser to startup technology, media and consumer-focused companies in both China and the U.S. for nearly 15 years. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors of Taomee, a Chinese children’s entertainment and media company listed on the NYSE. He earned his MBA at Harvard Business School and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in engineering at Stanford University.
