Our members generally make individual investments from US$3k to US$100k per deal, and as a group from US$100k to US$500k per deal but we can accept applications raising up to US$5 million. We typically seek to lead the funding round and obtain a seat on the Board of Directors. For larger amounts AngelVest can do a syndication with other approved institutions.
Operating companies, not business ideas. We prefer companies that have completed their product development and have begun the process of earning revenues. However, we will also consider earlier-stage companies. Seed, Angel, Pre-Series A, Series A.

Passion and vision of the management team are critical to the success of early-stage companies. We seek teams with a demonstrated track record of success and leadership, as well as relevant industry and technology expertise. Because we take an active approach to Angel investing, we also look for entrepreneurs who are coachable and open to input from investors.
We look for companies that can clearly communicate their value proposition to customers. These companies should have business models that are highly scalable, and have the ability to create significant barriers to entry
Product should target a clear market segment that has demonstrable and significant demand for the proposed solution or product
We look for companies that address niche markets or large and growing markets and demonstrate a clear strategy to claiming a significant and sustainable market share.
Need to have identified current and potential competitors, understand the company’s current differentiation points, and demonstrate competitive advantage. The company should have clear barriers to entry.
Protected intellectual property or currently going through the stages of protecting intellectual property. The company has made sure it has performed an exhaustive search to be sure it is are not infringing on patents or trademarks held by others.
Needs to have a plan to achieve widespread market penetration for the product and/or service efficiently.
Should able to demonstrate consistent margins and cash flow and can show that growth will be achieved.
Developed reasonable financial projections including income statement, cash flow, profit & loss balance sheet and supporting spreadsheets based on logical and realistic assumptions.
