Lawrence Wu
Lawrence is Program Manager at Bits x Bites, China’s first accelerator VC that invests in food-tech startups to shape the future of good food, from insect-based proteins to indoor farming systems. We run a 120-day accelerator program in Shanghai for purpose-driven startups that are solving food system challenges like food safety, food waste, and nutrition.
As an active angel investor with the Angelvest Group and occasional judge in startup events, Lawrence’s experience with seed-stage companies has given him first-hand insights into what it takes for entrepreneurs to succeed in China.
Lawrence was formerly a freelance designer, photographer, and producer. His portfolio includes videos co-created with Cannes Young Director Award winning directors duo Henry&Ssong as well various creative work for Hugo Boss, Bottega Veneta, and Nike, among others. Lawrence is also currently the executive producer for the feature-length documentary, Sentient Collective, a film dedicated to helping humanity break away from our current consumption and unsustainable growth based economic model, into a narrative that is inclusive of all cultures and sentient life, in which everyone can contribute.
